Every Sunday night, I sit down with a group of AI advisors to recap my week.

It forces me to zoom out and wrap my head around what actually got done. Today felt like a good time to loop YOU in...

I've been quite negligent on emails... and there's a bunch of new faces around here. So this is a "get to me know me" and "where have ya been" email wrapped in one.

Below is a recap of 5 projects I'm working on, wins I've had and lessons I've learned.

If that sounds interesting, keep reading...

1. Chop Wood, Carry Water

A week ago, I sat down at a table outside New Orleans at 10 in the morning. I stood back up at 3:30 the next morning.

Seventeen and a half hours.

Me, my client and Zain (brilliant partner dev), building a full end-to-end AI operating system for a company with ~20 employees.

The objectives were:

  • Full company visibility for the founder
  • Clear company-wide ownership and direction
  • Confidence his employees always had the right info at the right time
  • A flywheel that would take a client from prospect to happy customer and feed those insights back to the client & sales team

But even with the fanciest tech in the world, everything still started with a whiteboard.

Which got me thinking...

💡 With all the new tech, tools, AI, and skills a lot of people are ignoring foundational, strategic principles. Good reminder to go brush up on the classics.

Zain's first time in New Orleans and he barely saw it...but man we got a lot done.

2. My Clients Are Teaching Me

My latest client is a personal branding agency with an incredibly smart, forward-thinking founder. She's got a team of ~5 and I am honestly learning just as much from them, specifically about how to run cohorts. They've got that sucker down to a science.

Like New Orleans, each employee now has their own, personal operating system (Cowork + Notion...a "BigBrain") that connects and talks to the rest of the team. What I love most about them is they love to learn and love to build. But the focus for this week has been...focus.

💡 When you can build anything, deciding what to build is the most important skill. Are you focused on the ONE highest leverage thing you can do each week and is it moving the team's ONE big goal forward?

3. Nothing Beats Face to Face

I am headed up to Iowa this week to spend a few days with another client. Harry Beckwith said:

"By lulling us into thinking that electronic communication can replace face-to-face contact, the Internet leads us to neglect our relationships, which we cannot. You must become more personal, not less."

Even coming from an "AI guy" nothing beats meeting and working in person. I've never regretted going out and visiting a client, for a few hours or for a few days. Whether we talk about work or just about life. Even on your own dime it is always an investment in the relationship. I will let Harry carry this insight:

💡 The basics get you into the game. Then relationships take over, in every service from colleges to chiropractors.

Or in other words: Competence is table stakes; relationships win

4. AI Builder Club

A few months ago I did a Claude Code workshop for a large group of creative strategist, copywriters and business owners. After, the same group asked me if I would do a weekly call for their community for ongoing training.

I am not a big fan of doing things...normal...so I turned my weekly call into a club. The "AI Builder Club". Every week I do 90 minutes on different AI tools and training with the emphasis on building.

The Club comes with an entire resource center full of Skills, SOPs, tools, etc. But there is one catch...

You don't get into the club or resource center UNTIL you have submitted a build.

Just a few weeks in and we already have 16(!) builds submitted. Warms my lil'builder heart.

💡 You don't get good at AI with all it's nuances, agents, LLMs and Skill by watching YouTube. You get good at AI by using AI.

5. Show The World What Ya Got

A few weeks ago, I was invited on the AI Explored podcast with Mike Stelzner to talk about my methodology, Cognitive Fingerprint.

I was so blown away with Mike's process. Before (the prep), during and after, a true expert in action.

The imposter syndrome was real BUT I had a ton of fun. So many thoughts were going through my head leading up to it...

  • "What if I go blank?"
  • "Will Mike be disappointed?"
  • "What if I get asked questions I don't know the answer to?"

And then the lights come on and you realize, this is just another conversation.

I got messages from people I haven't heard from in forever and requests from others to be on more podcasts. It reminds me of one of my favorite sayings:

💡 People give opportunities to people doing the thing. Everyone is busy...no one is stalking your profile, paying attention to your every move and what you are offering. Go show people you are doing the thing, whatever that is for you.

I've got a few other fun projects in the work that I will be sharing soon. I am super lucky that I have amazing clients that let me test these with them.

They are running inside of companies of all sizes including mine so that they will be well-oiled-machines by the time I release them into the wild.

In the meantime, I would love to know what you are working on, how I can help, promote or just connect. Reply and let me know!

Stay Curious,

P.S. If you are a founder and feel like everything is running through you and your company's operating system is trapped in your head, feel to book a call herIt and I can show ya some of the stuff I am working on.
