Why "waiting for the right time" is killing your progress

Ever notice how some people seem to have all the luck?

They start a project and BAM...

The perfect collaborator appears.

Resources show up.

Opportunities materialize from nowhere.

Meanwhile, you're over here planning everything perfectly. Waiting for the "right moment." Making sure all your ducks are in a row.

And nothing happens.

Here's what nobody tells you about those "lucky" people...

They're not lucky. They just understand something you don't.

Steven Pressfield calls it "Assistance" in his book (my favorite of all of his) called "Do The Work."

It's a mysterious force that helps creators once they commit to their work. He makes it sound all mystical and woo-woo.

But what if I told you there are three concrete, predictable mechanisms behind this "magic"?

And once you understand them, you can trigger them on demand?

For example...

Your brain literally rewires what it notices

You know when you buy a blue Honda Civic and suddenly see them everywhere?

Same thing happens with creative work...

Start building that app you've been thinking about, and suddenly you "randomly" meet developers at coffee shops. Begin writing that book, and conversations magically become research material.

The resources were ALWAYS there. Your brain just started filtering for them once you had skin in the game.

But here's where it gets really spicy...

There are two other mechanisms that compound this effect. And when you combine all three with AI to accelerate your visibility?

You go from hoping for opportunities to engineering them.

I just published a deep dive breaking down:

  • All 3 mechanisms (with neuroscience backing)
  • Why perfect planning actually PREVENTS assistance
  • How to use AI to 10x your speed to visibility
  • The dark side of synchronicity nobody warns you about
  • My framework for manufacturing your own "miracles"

Plus... I included 5 specific exercises with copy-and-paste AI prompts to trigger assistance THIS WEEK.

Read the full article: "How to Engineer Serendipity: The Science Behind Creative 'Luck'"

The best part is once you understand these mechanisms, you stop waiting for the "right time" and start creating it.

Because the people treating assistance as prayer while you're engineering it with precision?

They're playing a different game. An older game.

A game where luck matters more than strategy.

Stay Curious,

P.S. Those 5 prompts I mentioned? They're not theory. I use variations of these exact frameworks to systematically attract resources for several projects.

The "Assistance Audit" one literally helped me identify patterns I'd been creating unconsciously for years...
